matcha tea is an alternative to coffee

If there’s no hope for you slowly moving into becoming a coffee drinker, and you are sure that trying to do so is a waste of time, there are plenty of non-coffee alternatives that you may not have thought about. First and foremost, there are thousands of different teas available, many of which have comparable amounts of caffeine to coffee.

Black teas are usually the highest in caffeine content aside from matcha green tea. Most black teas contain around 37 milligrams of caffeine per cup, while matcha greens are available in a wide range of caffeine strengths, some of which have as much as 130 milligrams of caffeine per cup. Black filter coffee averages out to about 40 milligrams of caffeine per cup, while caffeinated teas average about 20 milligrams per cup. However, many black teas are closer to 40 milligrams than 20, and some green teas have very high caffeine contents.

Coffee and tea are not the only sources of caffeine available. There are also energy drinks and sodas like Mountain Dew that have very high caffeine contents. Caffeine is also available in tablet form, and as a natural supplement in the form of green coffee bean extracts or green tea extracts. If it’s not the energy you are looking for, there are thousands of herbal teas available that are very affordable and make excellent caffeine-free coffee alternatives.

Many teas are quite healthy for you as well, and are great sources of antioxidants, as well as vitamins, minerals, and other supplements that are good for your body. In addition to tea, there are hot ciders and hot cocos to warm you up on a chilly day. Chai tea is a wonderfully fragrant beverage that can stand in for coffee on many occasions, and chai is usually available warm or iced at most coffee bars.

Don’t put yourself through misery to develop a taste for coffee if it’s just not something you enjoy. No one is going to dislike you because you aren’t a coffee drinker. If you don’t like coffee, you don’t have to drink it, and there are numerous alternatives that you can drink instead, whether you are searching for a caffeine source, or just a tasty warm beverage to sip when it’s cold outside.
