Chick-fil-A iced coffees

I love Chick-fil-A, although I’m not a fan of their hot coffee. Recently I learned they also serve iced coffee too though, so I went back to try them all. Here’s what I found out.

There are three different iced coffees at Chick-fil-A to choose from. There’s regular iced coffee, vanilla iced coffee, and Frosted Coffee, which is a blend of their ice cream and cold brewed coffee. The regular iced coffee and vanilla iced coffees are also made with cold brewed coffee, along with 2 percent milk and pure cane sugar. The vanilla is just vanilla flavoring added to that.

I was wondering if I’d like the Chick-fil-A iced coffees because I’m not very fond of their hot coffees. So I was pleased and surprised to find the regular iced coffee to be very tasty. Maybe it’s because they use cold brew coffee instead of regular coffee?

Whatever the reason, you get a nice milky and sweet iced coffee with rich coffee flavor that is strong enough, but not overpowering or bitter. Chick-fil-A nailed it with the right amount of sugar, milk and coffee for a very good drink.

I’d like to see an option to ask them to not add sugar to the drink, because I like to keep my carbs a little lower and I don’t add a lot of sugar to my coffee in general. But even without that option, an iced coffee is only 150 calories, which is reasonable. And the sweetness was not overpowering.

Chick-fil-A Vanilla Iced Coffee

Chick-fil-A Vanilla Iced Coffee was marked with a small v, so I could tell the coffees apart just by looking. Nice touch!

The vanilla iced coffee from Chick-fil-A was very similar to the regular iced coffee in that it had the perfect amount of sweetness, milk and coffee. The vanilla flavoring was subtle and made the coffee taste great. So if you like vanilla, you’ll like this version of the coffee. If you aren’t into added flavors for your coffee, then skip it.

Chick-fil-A Frosted Coffee

Chick-fil-A Frosted Coffee
Chick-fil-A Frosted Coffee is cold brewed coffee blended up with their ice cream that they call “Icedream.” It’s almost like a coffee milkshake.

The frosted coffee is really a very dessert like drink, and comes with the extra calories to prove it. It’s 250 calories instead of 150 like the regular iced coffees.

I would describe the Frosted Coffee more as a delicious coffee flavored milkshake than an actual coffee drink. So if you want a bolder coffee taste, stick with one of the iced coffees. If you prefer the blended ice cream / milkshake consistency with a milder coffee flavor, then the Frosted Coffee should be your choice.

I personally think of it from a calorie perspective, where I’m ok with treating myself to a 150 calorie sweetened ice coffee without worrying too much about the additional calories. But when you hit 250 and start talking about ice cream, this is more of a special occasion drink.

It’s definitely good though!

All three of the iced coffee options at Chick-fil-A are very good. Much, much better than the hot coffee, in my opinion. And significantly better than the Burger King iced coffees I also recently tried.

McDonald’s, Dunkin and Starbucks are all three going to give you a much, much larger number of iced and blended coffee options than just three basic drinks at Chick-fil-A. But they picked three very good choices that are all different, and I think it’s a wide enough selection that you’ll be happy with one of the choices.
