Coffee Review of Road Runner Gas Stations of Arkansas

Road Runner gas stations in Arkansas use a high quality bean-to-cup commercial coffee maker from Schaerer called the Coffee Art C.

On a drive from Dallas to Memphis, I recently stopped for gas on the Arkansas side of Texarkana and ended up at a Road Runner gas station, which is a brand I’m not familiar with.

Seemed like a great opportunity to try a new gas station coffee, so that’s exactly what I did. Road Runner is a relatively small gas station chain, with only around 17 stores when I checked.

I was pleased as soon as I saw the Road Runner coffee machine inside, because it was a high quality Swiss superautomatic bean-to-cup coffee machine from Schaerer. What’s great about these machines is that they only grind the beans and make one coffee at a time, so they don’t require a gas station employee to constantly brew coffee, check to see if it runs out, and throw out coffee that has gone stale and didn’t sell, only to make more and do it all over again several times per day.

I picked medium roast Cafe Blend as my coffee, which I drank black. The Cafe Blend had good traditional coffee nuts like nuts and chocolate that are what the average coffee drinker likes, which is a positive thing in my opinion.

The only creamer choices were non-dairy creamers, which I do not like, so I drank my coffee black. It would have been nice to see real cream.

I often drink coffee black, but I particularly insisted on black coffee at the Road Runner gas station because the only creamer choices were the gross non-dairy creamers that I do not like at all. Most of them use cheap oils to simulate creaminess, and I am not a fan of that.

If you’re looking for a good gas station coffee, Road Runner gas stations in Arkansas will meet your needs. The coffee is better than a McDonald’s coffee, and as good as many coffee shops.
