Bru Artisan Coffee Works
Bru Coffee Works is one of the most unique coffee shops and roasteries in the heart of downtown Waco. The flagship location is in an antique elevator in the historic Praetorian building. The espresso machine is a one-of-a kind custom made machine from Florence.
The name, Bru, is short for the French word “Brûlerie” meaning roast and also refers to the Latin term for bear in honor of Baylor University.
They serve only fair trade, organic coffee as well as tea and pastries.
They have a second pop up location in the Stories building every Sunday with a rotating menu.

Magnolia Press Coffee Co.
Magnolia is a beautiful, spacious coffee shop that encourages you to sit and relax over a cup of coffee and a slice of chocolate cake, cookies and a number of other sweet desserts. Their menu features drip coffee, cold brew, french press, teas, pastries and seasonal beverages.
Once you have drained your cup just head out the back door to Magnolia at the Silos, Chip and Joanna’s community hang out. Guests will find an old restored church, a whiffle ball field, tons of green space and local boutique stores. If you are a fan of Joanna Gaines decor this is the perfect spot to spend the day and maybe pick up a gift!

Common Grounds Coffee Shop
Common Grounds is one of Waco’s original coffee shops and was started as a Baylor class project. No surprise, it is located near the Baylor campus and has ample indoor and outdoor seating as well as a small concert space in the back.
They feature coffee beans from Native Sons coffee roasters, which is a local roasterie. They also sell Baylor blend coffee with a mission. These are coffee beans sourced from a fair wage farm in an emerging country.
Common Grounds Waco menu features drip coffee, cold brew coffee, nitro cold brew and traditional espresso drinks. Their cowboy coffee drinks are made with their famous sweet and caffeinated “secret sauce” and their sleep is overrated menu features highly caffeinated drinks.

Dichotomy Coffee and Spirits
Dichotomy calls itself Waco’s premier third-wave coffee shop. They feature a traditional espresso menu of hot and iced beverages as well as batch brew, pour-over, cold brew and nitro using beans from Apex coffee roasters.
The rooftop lounge is the perfect place to enjoy beautiful views of downtown Waco and because it is open late, you can enjoy your coffee or spirit while enjoying the night lights.

Thrst (third space theory) Coffee is a locally owned coffee shop and the owner also owns a coffee roasting company. Because of this the beans are carefully roasted to match the coffee profile resulting in smooth, delicious coffee.

Pinewood Coffee and Beer
Pinewood coffee bar is a large wood toned space that has a coffee bar, roastery and public house. There is no question it is one of the best coffee shops in Waco and is geared toward true coffee lovers. They serve traditional coffee and espresso drinks with seasonal syrups made from scratch. You can bring a team and try your hand at the monthly trivia competition.

KurbSide Coffee
KurbSide Coffee is a coffee wagon and they post their location on their Facebook business page. They are at the Downtown Waco farmers market every Saturday.

Bitty and Beau’s Coffee
Bitty and Beau’s was founded to make the world a better place for people with intelectual and developmental disabilties. It has grown from a family coffee shop in Wilmington, NC that employed individuals with intelectual and developmental disabilities to 23 shops in 12 states.

Be Kind Coffee
The name says it all! Be Kind Coffee strives to promote kindness and serve craft coffee. It was originally opened inside a meat market with a makeshift drive through. Now they have a second location inside a food hall in downtown Waco and they offer a vegan friendly menu.

For Keeps offers a warm and inviting environment to enjoy artisnal coffee. They use beans that are ethically sourced, roasted in Kansas city and shipped fresh.

Located in downtown Waco, this is women owned & operated bookshop and cafe. You get the quiet and peaceful feeling of being surrounded by books while sipping your favorite coffee drink.
